Four sisters

FOUR SISTERS and a Store!

That’s us! Sisters Nancy, Linda, Laura, and Carol make up part of the Learning Gizmos’ staff in Warren, Michigan (and yes, we all get along!). We are joined by several cousins, nieces, friends and teachers that help create our family-owned Michigan based company designed for teachers and involved parents.

For over 20 years, our customers have known that Learning Gizmos is not your typical teacher store. We strive to go the extra mile with our commitment to customer service and innovative programs offered exclusively at Learning Gizmos. Browse this website to learn more about everything we have to offer.

We would be remiss if we didn’t tell you about our beloved sister Mary Beth, who lost her battle with cancer in February, 2012. Our entire marketing efforts and success are directly related to her creative “magic”! Mary Beth was the link to all of our exclusive programs. We miss her dearly and know she is with us in spirit, always.

Our store

Our humble beginnings started in 1992 in the garage of a downtown child care center.  By 1996, Learning Gizmos’ retail store was born!  You will discover nearly 6,000 square feet of teaching tools for preschool through high school.  We also carry school supplies, family-friendly educational games, tons of resource books, decoratives, posters, manipulative, teacher/student pins, inspirational products, and much, much more!

If you’re purchasing bulletin board supplies and other classroom display items, you can stop  by our lamination station and have your purchases laminated on the spot.  We also offer in-store laminating for items purchased elsewhere - drop in and see how easy it is to protect your classroom materials!

The companies we work with are among the best in the industry offering your favorite brands of educational products.  Just to name a few…..Evan-Moor, Creative Teaching Press, Learning Resources, Scholastic, Teacher Created Resources and Trend Enterprises.

Learning Gizmos also hosts several special sales in the summer and during the early part of the school year.  We’ve held our Hawaiian Sale every year since we opened, and it’s still our most popular event.  This themed sale features storewide discounts and fun games that participants can play for more savings!  At our Hot Diggity Dog Sale, our customers can enjoy a free hot dog lunch while shopping and receive store-wide discounts.  Finally, our one-of-a-kind Teacher Swap Sale offers educators the chance to sell their gently used classroom materials to their peers at garage sale prices.

Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, or follow our blog to get up-to-date information on our sales and to find out when and where our coupons will be released.  You can also contact us and ask to be added to our mailing list.

Our programs

Our Family Math & Game Nights are held in schools throughout Metro Detroit - and beyond. These popular programs feature cool math games for kids which are appropriate for both the classroom and the home.

The EATTS (Eat At a Terrific Teacher Store) program offers educators a day of discounted shopping and a free meal at our Warren, MI store.

Learning Gizmos is proud to have two online stores to serve our customers. Parents and teachers can beat the back-to-school rush by shopping online.

Teachers will love our General Catalog. In this catalog, you'll classroom supplies that every teacher needs: bulletin board materials, student supplies, class certificates, and more.

School administrators, parents and after school program organizers (and teachers, too!) can turn to our Educational Games Catalog. This catalog is packed with games that make learning fun! Many of the games are all aligned to the Common Core in at least one subject, and most of them are suitable for a wide age range. Keep students engaged by bringing educational games into your classroom or after school program.
